Sleeps up to 10, or more if you ask for extra mattresses on the floor of the spacious upstairs bedrooms. There are 6 bedrooms in all - 5 upstairs (double, twin, twin and two single rooms). The sixth bedroom is the downstairs annexe, with a king-size convertible bed-settee.

3 Bathrooms: Upstairs - bath with shower attachment. Downstairs - bath with power shower over. The downstairs en-suite in the annexe has a power shower and WC. Here is the upstairs family bathroom and the annexe with its king-size sofa-bed. The annexe is fairly self-sufficient, having a dining table and kitchen area equipped with electric hob and fridge. This could be considered a refuge for family members preferring a little peace and privacy.
The utility room has a washing machine and tumble dryer, and large freezer. The main kitchen has a family dining table and a gas oven with hob, large fridge, dishwasher and microwave.
The lounge has comfortable seating and a wood burner with supply of logs.

The garden is mainly lawn. It extends to about 0.3 acre and runs down to the Allen River. Originally the house was the village Post Office hence the name "Penny Black". A gas BBQ is available, and chiminea.
Bed linen is provided, but not towels. Free WiFi internet access throughout the house. To the front of the house is a large tarmac parking area, which sets the house well back from the village road. To the side and rear of the house there is additional parking for cars and even space for a large caravan or boat.
The house is located in the small village of Damerham, 3,5 miles west of Fordingbridge, with The Compasses public house an easy level walk away. It's a family pub with good meals and a large beer garden.
No smoking indoors. No pets of any kind permitted.
