Beechwood Group 4: Within the New Forest, where ponies roam free, we have four holiday cottages. Fallow, Roe and Badger Cottage each sleep 4 - 6. Wren Cottage sleeps 2 - 4. Changeover is Friday or Saturday. Short breaks and discounts for couples are available. All the cottages are set within a courtyard of lawns and flowers behind our beautiful 17th Century farmhouse. Views from the South facing windows look over farmland, woodland and the New Forest beyond. Clean, light and warm, our cottages are spacious and attractively furnished to a country look and feel. Linen, towels, electricity and full central heating are all inclusive. However, apologies, no smoking and no dogs.
Wren Cottage has a good sized kitchen/dining room, which is fully equipped with oven, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and washing machine, but no dishwasher. We supply you with a welcome tray. There is a pretty farmhouse style dining table. Full central heating throughout. There is a stylish comfortable oak beamed sitting room with 2 sofas (one doubles as a single sofa bed). A colour TV with digital reception is provided. There are two shower rooms (a his and a hers) with bath and hand towels provided. From the hallway is a delightful double bedroom with a double and single bed. The beds are made up ready for your use. The charming bedroom has views across the farm fields and the New Forest beyond.
Fallow, Roe and Badger Cottages all have similar layouts. Each cottage has an open plan living area, with comfortable sofas, digital TV and DVD, family dining table and a fully fitted kitchen. Full central heating is provided throughout.
The kitchen area has a washing machine, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, hob and oven. The comfortable bedrooms will ensure a restful stay.
Each cottage has a double room with an en-suite shower and a twin room with space for an extra bed. A cot is available. Family sized bathrooms are present in Fallow and Roe. Badger has a family size continental style shower room. Here are Badger's two spacious bedrooms, both with enough floor space for a cot:
A lawned garden safely fenced for children is private to each cottage. Each garden has a patio with garden furniture. BBQs and outdoor games are available for your use.
On this working farm we have 4 ponies, 3 ducks, 9 hens and a rooster called Lester. Cattle can be seen grazing in the fields. Children are welcome to collect the hen's eggs. The hens live in the old orchard by the stream that runs past the farm. In the old orchard you will find some swings and a football goal.
Games room and cycle storage : With direct access to the New Forest our holiday cottages are in an ideal location for walkers and cyclists. Storage for bicycles is available within the courtyard. There is also a games room with table football, table tennis and a collection of other outdoor games.
